  • I haven't written anything for a long time
  • Each bridge has a sign with its number
  • New Zealand has a bookshop with a population of 7,500 – more bookstores per inhabitant than anywhere else in the world.
  • It is nice to see that even well-trained road cyclists only come up the mountain twice as fast as I do.
  • It is depressing to arrive at the same time as a brisk pedestrian at the top.

  • With the rental car, which I now drive for a few days, I have seen more of the landscape in two trips than in two weeks on the bike – because I finally don't have to focus on overtaking trucks.
