Sun, wind and cold. 2.6.19

How did I come up with the idea of riding a bike? I don't really know anymore. In any case, it has been clear to me in the last few months that I will definitely take my bike to New Zealand.

Also that I will camp on the way was simply a matter of course for me. Another point I so semi-regret. Actually it would be nice, but I'm lying in my sleeping bag with far too many layers of clothes, because out there it's just five degrees. And my tent is not winter-proof, nor is my sleeping bag. Both designed only for three seasons. That means I just miss the cuddly four walls of my cell the last two days.

And I had headwinds. In the morning I forget to smear myself with sunscreen (no bad sunburn but visibly reddened) and then, although the slope was actually on my side with more downwards than upwards, I just couldn't move forward. Well, tomorrow I have to arrive in Warkworth somehow so I don't have to camp again tomorrow. That's 60km at 600m. A decent piece. For this I have a hostel and a few days break, because I may get my first job. But more if I'm smarter myself.

Now I try to sleep and think of the sun, which is probably just getting too much too much for you.
