My Car, 19.6.19
I think I could tell you a little more about that now. Last Monday, 10.6, I bought a 2002 Ford Mondeo Station wagon from a colleague from the restaurant where I work now, as she is going back to Germany for some time. In the meantime, I have also found my car on their social media pages. But the cover is of me, taken in front of my hostel in Warkworth. Actually a snapshot, but somehow quite nice.
In any case, this Ford has a completely gutted rear part. When I bought it, I wasn't 100% aware of what that meant to me, as most of it was covered by a large bed. Not bad this bed, but for me just the wrong thing. So on my days off, I used the time to expand everything first. So wash the existing (huge) bed linen, take out all the pillows and different layers of the mattress (i.e. two pieces of foam about 1.50 x 2m and an air mattress of the same size). After that I collected all the scrap that I could find like a lonely shoe under the mattress, an empty wine bottle and a set of plastic wine glasses.
The next step led me to the gas station, where I had to pay a fee of 2 for the vacuum cleaner. After all, I found a lot of a lot of a lot of a bill next to it, so overall it's a good deal.
Now it became complicated. I didn't like the bed. It leaves me far too little storage space. So I completely dismantled it. Originally it consisted of two parts. One plate in the actual trunk, another where the rear seats would normally be. In the middle to the flap to get both to the small box in the front part and to the spare tirein in the rear part. This plate is now back in it (just stupidly the spare tire is installed, I have to change that) and the front plate no longer exists on one piece.
Now to my tyre dilemma: I bought a shelf, similar to a billi but made of real wood, 1.80m long, 60cm wide and 30cm deep. Not very big but that has become my bed by now. Stupidly, I have to screw this heavy thing over the wheel on the plate. Does anyone have any idea what I could change?
The sleeping side consists of two plates, 0.7 and 1.2m long. So a total of 1.90m, so that after the sale also normal big people can sleep there and Also I have some space. I upholstered these plates. Firstly, this looks much nicer, secondly, it is more comfortable to sleep under my isomat. To do this, I had to cut the existing bed linen, but it would be far too big for me anyway. And I don't have to dispose of one of the foam mats anymore, because I have already installed it.
Since I was finally able to insert a picture, it comes to mind that the bed will move to the passenger side, i.e. to the left – there is left traffic here, because with the bed behind the driver's seat, this is too limited in its mobility. And speaking of photos, yes, I'm really finally getting on with it.
